The avocet hummingbird, scientifically known as Opisthoprora euryptera, is a long-legged waterbird with a long, slender beak, similar to that of the sandpiper (II). During the breeding season, one female pheasant-tailed jacana mates with up to 10 males, with the males incubating the eggs and caring for the chicks.
