Distribution and Habitat
They are distributed across islands in the Pacific Ocean, including Taiwan Province of China, the Dongsha Islands, Xisha Islands, Zhongsha Islands, Nansha Islands, as well as the Philippines, Brunei, Malaysia, Singapore, Sumatra and Java in Indonesia, and Papua New Guinea.
Appearance
The lower breast is greyish-green, the belly is creamy white, the undertail coverts are pale yellowish-brown, the upperparts are green, and the flight feathers are black. The female lacks a white head but has a breast band. Juveniles are similar to females but lack the breast band. Iris – red; bill – yellow; cere – red and yellow; legs – pink.
