Detailed introduction
The Southern Screamer (scientific name: *Chauna torquata*) possesses specialized webbed feet, making it an excellent swimmer, but it prefers to walk on land. The spikes on its wings protect it from other birds and predators. While a capable flier, the Southern Screamer is not a migratory bird. It is gregarious and typically forages in farmland and grasslands.

The Crested Calling Duck adheres to monogamy during mating. During courtship, both males and females emit loud calls to attract each other, audible from a great distance. They typically nest in reeds, straw, and other aquatic plants along the water's edge. Each clutch contains 2-7 eggs, and both parents incubate them for approximately 43-46 days. The chicks can walk shortly after hatching, but the Crested Calling Ducks will continue to care for their young for several weeks until they are fully feathered.
