The joco woodpecker lives in the jungles of South America.
Appearance
The judae woodpecker is 90–560 mm in length. It has a strong, straight beak like a chisel; a long, retractable tongue with short hooks at the tip; relatively short legs with four toes, two pointing forward and two pointing backward; and a flat or wedge-shaped tail with mostly twelve tail feathers, the shafts of which are stiff and flexible, supporting the body while pecking.
