Detailed introduction
The Golden-whiskered Barbet, scientifically known as Megalaima chrysopogon, has three subspecies.

The Golden-cheeked Barbet inhabits the tree canopy, is adept at camouflage, is active throughout the day, and primarily feeds on fruit, usually selecting fully ripe fruit. It also eats seeds, insects, and even lizards and birds. It is a vocal bird, and its calls are loud, producing sounds similar to "tehoop tehoop-tehoop tehoop".

The breeding season for the Golden-cheeked Woodpecker is from February to August. Each nest contains two white eggs.
