Distribution and Habitat
The Sunda Wrinkled Hornbill is found in Thailand, Brunei, Sumatra, Indonesia, and Malaysia.
The Sunda-wrinkled hornbill inhabits lowlands, swamps, and forests.
Appearance
The Sunda Helmeted Hornbill is 65-70 cm long and weighs about 1.6 kg.
Males and females differ in appearance. Males have a yellow-red, wrinkled casque, while females have a yellow, relatively smooth, and slightly smaller casque. Males have yellow feathers on their face and chest, while females have dark blue feathers on their face and throat. Males have light blue skin around their eyes and are larger than females.
When the Sunda Helmetser fly, it makes a very loud whooshing sound by flapping its wings.

The Sunda Helmeted Hornbill's diet mainly consists of fruit, especially drupes and figs. It is gentle in nature and not aggressive.


It is listed as Near Threatened (NT) on the IUCN Red List.
