Distribution and Habitat
The white-crowned hornbill is found in the Malay Peninsula, Sumatra, and Borneo, inhabiting low-altitude rainforests, and occasionally also in plantations.

Other scholars classify the Long-crowned Hornbill within the genus *Berenicornis*.

White-crowned hornbills feed on a variety of fruits, lizards, insects, and larvae.

The forest habitat that the white-crowned hornbill depends on has been drastically reduced in recent years, and it was listed as endangered in the 2018 IUCN Red List.
