Distribution and Habitat
They are distributed throughout the African continent, south of the southern Arabian Peninsula and south of the Sahara Desert (Tropic of Cancer).
Appearance
It measures approximately 35cm in length, with a long, slender tail that accounts for half its body length, and weighs about 57g. The upperparts are brown, and the underparts are brown. The head is greyish-brown with soft head feathers and white spots on the ear coverts. The upper beak is black, and the lower beak is yellow or red. The legs are red, and unlike the legs of other four-toed birds, the toes extend forward to allow for gripping branches when perched.
