Detailed introduction
The White-necked Round-tailed Shelduck (Pterodroma externa), scientifically known as Juan Fernandez Petrel, lays one (rarely two) eggs per clutch, which are laid on the ground or in depressions and crevices. Both parents care for the chicks together and leave about a week before the chicks have fully developed their feathers. The chicks rely on stored fat for development. During the non-breeding season, they drift on the high seas, feeding on squid and small fish.

Protect wild animals and ban the consumption of wild game.
