Distribution and Habitat
Widely distributed in south-central Africa, found in Angola, Benin, Cameroon, Central African Republic, Congo, Democratic Republic of Congo, Ivory Coast, Equatorial Guinea, Gabon, Ghana, Guinea, Guinea-Bissau, Liberia, Mali, Nigeria, Sierra Leone, Togo, and Uganda, it is one of the least noticed species of the Buddha-monk, with a relatively large population.
Appearance
Information on the Blue-throated Treasure Bird is limited. It is similar in size to the Broad-billed Treasure Bird, and the sexes are similar. It has a yellow beak, a bright copper-red head and back, a very prominent blue throat, a copper-red neck, chest and back, a blue tail, and black legs.
