Appearance
The Black Round-tailed Shearling resembles a gull in size, measuring 35–36 cm in length, weighing 174–270 g, and with a wingspan of 88 cm. On September 4, 2014, a female Black Round-tailed Shearling was photographed, with the egg it carried on its underside clearly protruding.
Detailed introduction
There is no detailed information available about the Black Round-tailed Shelduck (scientific name: Pseudobulweria aterrima, English name: Mascarene Petrel), but it has recently been observed cleaning its floating entrails on the water's surface.

The Black Roundtail is a critically endangered species. Only two birds were recorded in the 1970s, and sightings have been rare since. Their main threats come from invasive species and environmental pollution.
